There are also moments of hasty shooting, where you don't have time to aim, but the arrow accidentally hits the target thanks to its unexpectedly curved trajectory. This uncertainty is what makes each match in Bow Battle so lively and unpredictable.
This mode is for beginners. You will face a single AI opponent in each match. The goal isn't to win quickly but to learn how to read the arrow's trajectory under the influence of gravity. You'll learn how far to pull the mouse to hit the target at close range and how much higher to aim for a longer shot. This is also where you learn to manage your stamina, as you can't continuously draw the bow without recovery time.
Challenge Mode is where your true skill is shown. You start on floor 1 with only one opponent. But the higher you go, the harder things get. On floor 5, you might face two enemies at once. On floor 10, it could be three or four. At this point, you not only need to be a skilled shooter but also know how to prioritize targets: shoot the most dangerous ones first and those in advantageous positions later. And if you hesitate too long, they'll corner you.
After eliminating all enemies on a floor, you can choose one of three upgrade cards. This is the deciding factor in how far you can go.
Extra Arrow: Allows you to fire more arrows at once. This upgrade proves to be extremely beneficial when confronting multiple adversaries at once. One shot, two hits – saving time and stamina.
Strength Upgrade: Increases the arrow's speed and damage. The higher the floor, the tougher the enemies. If you don't have enough damage, you can hit them three or four times without them falling.
Stamina Boost: Allows you to draw your bow and jump more before you get exhausted. Essential if you prefer constant movement and dodging instead of standing still and shooting.
There's no single right answer for every situation. Some floors require Extra Arrow. Some require Strength. Some floors require Stamina when you can't jump anymore. This variety of choices makes each playthrough a different experience.
Bow Battle uses a minimalist control system that demands finesse.
You use the left mouse button for two main tasks: hold and drag to aim and power up the bow, then release to shoot. The stronger the drag, the farther the arrow flies. The higher the angle of the drag, the more arc the arrow's trajectory has.
Additionally, the Spacebar is used for jumping. You can jump left, right, or backward to dodge attacks, but remember that each jump consumes stamina, and if you jump too much in a short time, your character will become exhausted and unable to jump or draw their bow for a few seconds.
There are two main modes. Single Mode for practice and getting familiar with the physics. Challenge Mode to challenge yourself through levels with increasing difficulty and an upgrade system, which allows players to enhance their skills and equipment as they progress through the game.
