Publisher Azgames not only brought Garfield War to their platform but also introduced several notable improvements:
- Rebalanced the unit system. Orson and Arlene have been buffed to better suit the final waves (level 40+).
- Added a knockback effect to the frying pan. Now each of Garfield's attacks can push enemies back, allowing for better distance control.
- Challenge Mode is unlocked earlier, no longer requiring completion of level 60.

Unlike traditional tower defense games where you just build towers and watch, Garfield War forces you to actively participate. You control Garfield moving across a side-scrolling battlefield. The sole objective: prevent any Alien Meatballs from reaching Jon's refrigerator.
Garfield automatically attacks when enemies are nearby. Default weapons are the frying pan and newspaper. However, Garfield alone can't handle all 60+ levels. You need to use popcorn, a resource obtained in battle, to summon your allies:
- Odie: Cheap, low health, useful as a shield early on.
- Nermal: Excellent crowd control.
- Wade & Orson: Specialized defensive units. Orson is particularly tanky and almost mandatory at high levels.
- Arlene: Supports Garfield.
In addition, you have special abilities like Doughnut Rain, toy cars, or Jon's vacuum cleaner. Each ability has a unique cooldown and must be strategically timed to shift the battle's momentum.

Tips for all 60 levels
- In the first wave, only use Odie. Don't waste popcorn on expensive units when you don't need them.
- Spider Meatball is the top priority. It only takes two hits to take down Garfield. Keep your distance and use skills if needed.
- Tap Garfield continuously. If you tap every 1/4 second, Garfield will attack twice as fast as if you just left it on auto-attack.
- Don't let the refrigerator get hit more than twice in the same wave. If you do, you've made a tactical mistake or need to upgrade.
